DPI Calculator
Calculate an image's DPI from its pixel dimensions and the size you want to print it at.

Working the other way round? The Print Size Calculator starts from a DPI and tells you how large you can print. Nothing is uploaded anywhere — this runs entirely on your device.
Frequently asked questions
1.What is DPI?
DPI (Dots Per Inch) measures how sharp an image will look when printed. The higher the number, the clearer the print.
2.How do I calculate DPI?
Divide your image’s pixel size by the printed size in inches:DPI= Pixels/Inches (Example: 3000 pixels / 10 inches = 300 DPI)
3. What is the best DPI for printing?
300 DPI: Crisp, professional quality (photos, business cards, flyers). 150 DPI: Good for large posters viewed from a distance. 72 DPI: Standard for screens, but too blurry for quality prints.
4. DPI vs. PPI: What is the difference?
PPI (Pixels Per Inch): Digital resolution on screens. DPI (Dots Per Inch): Physical ink dots on paper.
5. Can I fix a low-DPI image?
No. Changing the DPI setting won't magically add detail. To get a sharp print, either print at a smaller size or use an image upscaler to add pixels.
6. Is my data safe with this calculator?
Yes. Everything calculates directly in your browser. Nothing is saved or uploaded to any server.
